"Our friends do not wish to live forever. They are not looking for quantity, only a quality of life. They have a purpose here; they are temporary gifts which must be returned. Our pets take away our pain, suffering, loneliness, selfishness, anger and misfortune. With a warm purr or happy woof, they try to teach each of us how to live as better human beings.
If we listen to their quiet yet profound message, then a pet's life will be eternal and meaningful. We need to live our lives as well, sharing the simple unconditional love and acceptance we have enjoyed from our furry companions."

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.
When the night is dark and the moon is full
And all the stars shine bright,
The mysterious glow upon a warm land
Can make a cold and lonely night.
You’ve felt it before - the emptiness inside,
When you can see through the pitch and the black,
When the moonlight’s reflected off of every tree
And you feel the warm wind at your back.
Sometimes it’s a lonely feeling
Or a feeling of heartbreak and pain,
When you remember the ones you swore you loved
And the ones you’d never love again.
So please remember when you’re in this trance
Of past loves and pain or hate,
That I’m always here in your time of need,
A special someone of no debate.
Because when I’m looking into that cold dark night,
And the ache in my heart burns true,
There’s only one thought that eases the pain,
The memory of begin with you.
